We have created a tactical team to operate under a 'stealth' brand. Our team work with the management of leading global enterprises to deliver new strategic initiatives. We call it No Placebo.
pla·ce·bo n. Something of no intrinsic remedial value that is used to appease or reassure another
The Challenge
Over half of large-scale corporate initiatives fail within their first year. Every year millions of dollars are wasted.
As the internal advocate and key project owner you don't want this to happen with the program you've sweated over for months. Reputations are on the line, financial expectations are already in place and you're responsible. Everyone's making the right noises – but things don't move quickly enough.
The Corporate Placebo Effect
In times of change and stress, many people default to what they know – dealing with their individual and departmental challenges and concentrating on their core responsibilities, which are usually about maintaining and growing current business.
With the best will in the world, it's very hard for other departments to focus on an initiative that's early stage, unproven, risky, or “at this time” not core for them. New projects take their place in the queue, and the wheels turn at their own pace. The better side of human nature results in people reassuring you that everything's on track. This is the 'corporate placebo' at work. Lots of positive talk – unmatched by positive action.
All too often, time slips by, objectives are missed, other priorities and projects emerge and everyone moves on, leaving you the potential of having to play catch-up with the competition. Our role is to help you secure the advocacy of the Board and senior management, help you galvanise support, drive action and commence implementation quickly – we take the heat along the way.
The Way We Work
We are external to your organisation, but with buy-in for your initiative secured from Senior Management, we have a very important currency – expectation.
First, we get up to speed – quickly. Understanding the background to your project/initiative, why it will add value to the business and the competitive advantages it presents. Then we scope what needs to be done in terms of time, logistics, commercialisation, technical development, sales, marketing, market readiness and launch.
Once we have the green light we commence delivery – our teams work with the multiple layers and parts of your organisation to galvanise action against agreed milestones. We manage existing external resources where they are in place, and fill-in with our own people where they aren't. We continually feedback on progress – reporting the good and the bad – to get your project delivered on time. Remember, No Placebo.
Projects can be short or long-term, the needs internal or external, but as we approach the goal, our role will recede as we hand back to you.
Where is the support when you need it most? Right here.
